Fika & Mat is a cozy Swedish bistro celebrating traditional husmanskost and the cherished Swedish tradition of fika. Since 2018, we've been serving homestyle Swedish cooking that reminds people of grandmother's kitchen. The name perfectly captures our philosophy - good food and the Swedish coffee break tradition. Our menu features classic Swedish dishes like meatballs with lingonberries, Janssons frestelse, pytt i panna, and yellow pea soup with pork. Every Thursday we serve traditional Swedish pea soup and pancakes, just like Swedish homes have done for generations. The bakery section produces fresh cinnamon buns, cardamom rolls, princess cake, and semla during the season. We use local ingredients whenever possible, supporting Swedish farmers and producers. The interior has a warm, homey feel with vintage Swedish furniture, checkered tablecloths, and shelves displaying classic Swedish design. Fika here means more than just coffee - it's about slowing down and enjoying the moment with something delicious. Our coffee is carefully selected from Swedish roasters, and we offer both traditional filter coffee and modern espresso drinks. Lunch specials change daily and always include a vegetarian option and homemade bread.
