About The Restaurant

Kroppkakornas Hus specializes in traditional Småland kroppkakor - potato dumplings filled with pork and served with lingonberries and cream. This beloved Swedish dish is the star of our restaurant, which opened in 2015 to preserve this important culinary tradition. We make our kroppkakor using an old family recipe from Småland that has been refined over generations. The potatoes are locally sourced, peeled and boiled fresh each morning, then mashed and mixed to create the perfect dough. Each kroppkaka is carefully formed by hand, filled with seasoned pork and onions, then boiled to perfection. They're served traditionally with melted butter, lingonberries, and thick cream. The menu also features other Småland specialties like ostkaka (Swedish cheesecake), isterband sausage, and salt herring. The rustic interior with wooden beams and traditional Swedish textiles creates an authentic Småland atmosphere. During summer, we serve kroppkakor with fresh chanterelles gathered from nearby forests. We also offer versions with different fillings including vegetarian options. Many guests say our kroppkakor taste exactly like the ones their grandmother used to make. It's comfort food at its finest.
